The Parent Portal allows applicants to apply to Telford & Wrekin Council for both a School place and a Talking 2s place.

Please note that when creating or changing a password, it must include a capital letter, a number and a special character and should not be a word.

When you have completed your application, please read the terms and conditions and click on submit. If you do not submit your application, it cannot be processed.
Madeley Academy and Haberdasher's Abraham Darby Academy process their own In-Year applications. If you would like to apply for an In-year transfer to either of these schools, please contact the schools directly as we will no longer accept applications via the parent portal.
You should look at the admission arrangements for each school that you are applying for. You will find them on the school's website. It will advise if there are any additional instructions that you need to follow as part of the application process, i.e., provide proof of faith.
It is not possible to change the application via the parent portal once it has been submitted and downloaded by School Admissions. Parents should make absolutely sure that they're happy with the details before they click on submit, however if you have made a mistake, changes can be made up until the closing date, please email admissions team to request changes. If you wish to be contacted by telephone, please can we ask for you to ensure you provide up to date contact information on your application.

Waiting lists for In Year Transfers are disbanded at the end of the summer term. If you wish to be considered for the following academic year you will need to submit a new application after when In-Year Rounds open in the summer term.
To apply for a school place at Thomas Telford School or any independent school you will need to go directly to the school.
Telford & Wrekin Local Authority operate a Fair Access Protocol for children who are deemed hard to place outside of the normal admission rounds.
Allscott Meads Primary - We are currently accepting expression of interest applications for September 2023 for this new school. Please add your child's details as normal and the appropriate year group should appear. In the summer we will contact you to notify you when it is time to submit your formal in-year application.
Children in Care (looked after children): Applications MUST be completed by the Social Worker. We cannot accept applications from any other person.
British Armed Forces Families: If your family is part of the British Armed Forces and you are being relocated to Telford, you must provide confirmation from the Commanding Officer regarding your posting to the area.
Catchment Schools: Not all Telford schools have catchment school areas and catchment areas can also be under review. Please check the school catchment area maps for more information.
What to do if you are moving house?
If you live outside of Telford and are applying for your child to start school for the first time, move to Junior or Secondary school you will need to apply to your home local authority, this is where you pay council tax. If you are moving into the borough, we will require address evidence to confirm your house move.
You can send your application at any time before you have moved. However, we will only start processing your application 6 school weeks (half a term) before your requested start date. We will not use your new address until you have moved in and sent us satisfactory proof of your move. A letter of intention to purchase is not sufficient.
Home to School Travel Assistance: If you express a preference for a school which is some distance from your home address, you will be responsible for the transport arrangements and associated costs. For more information, please refer to the Home to School Travel Policy
As from January 2018 this is the official process to apply for a Talking 2s Place under the financial criteria. Parents/carers applying under the alternative criteria found here should contact the childcare provider of their choice directly. A child's funding starts the term after the child's 2nd birthday.
